É o último jogo da série baseado no hardware Neo-Geo MVS e o primeiro a ser desenvolvido e publicado sob a custódia da SNK Playmore. Também é o primeiro capítulo da "Tales of Ash Saga", o terceiro arco de história da série, e o último jogo da série com o ano do lançamento no título.
