Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft é um jogo de plataforma e tiro em terceira pessoa desenvolvido pela Core Design e publicado pela Eidos Interactive. É o terceiro installment da série Tomb Raider e a sequência direta de Tomb Raider II. O sistema de gameplay é semelhante ao implementado no jogo anterior. As habilidades de Lara incluem correr, pular, escalar, nadar, rolar, agachar-se, arrastar-se, sprintear e balançar em barras e videiras. Algumas novas categorias de perigos foram adicionadas nesta installment, incluindo água gelada na qual Lara pode nadar por um tempo limitado, criaturas subaquáticas perigosas (como piranhas) e o areia movediça traiçoeira, que engolirá a heroína se o jogador não for cuidadoso ou rápido o suficiente para impedi-la de cair nela.
